01 · The brief

a residential interior in cool tones, marble, and linear light.

The Grid House is a residential interior in Lahore with a precise, cool material palette. Marble in two grades, walnut and oak joinery in matched tones, and a strict linear lighting scheme that traces the architecture rather than dressing it. The brief asked for an interior that reads modern but does not date.

BloxDot delivered the interior as a standalone engagement. Concept through execution drawings, with on-site supervision through the fitout. The construction was managed by a contractor of the client's choice, with our team verifying that the build followed the drawings.

03 · The story

discipline in the lines.

The defining decision on Grid House 2 was the lighting layout. Linear sources trace ceiling planes, drop along walls, and define edges throughout. The result is an interior that looks crisp during the day and reads as drawn at night. No spotlights, no decorative fittings.

Material choices follow the same logic. Marble in two grades, deployed for hierarchy: a darker, more figured stone for the central hall and a quieter stone for secondary spaces. Walnut and oak joinery cut from the same supply lot to keep tone consistent across rooms.

Because the build was run by a separate contractor, BloxDot stayed on-site through finishes and joinery to verify execution against the drawings. Mock-ups for stone matching, lighting levels, and joinery profiles before installation. The interior the client moved into is the interior the drawings described.
